Introduction
As we enter the new year of 2024, it's hard to believe how quickly time has flown by. Looking back, I still remember the days when ACP was just a small LLC that I used for consulting work. The pandemic had disrupted everything, and the sudden shift to virtual learning left many of us feeling lost and uncertain. However, during this turbulent time, my colleague and friend Kristy came up with a brilliant idea - to write a free ebook for educators that would provide strategies for collaboration in a virtual and socially-distanced world. Then, the person who insisted she would never want to write anything EVER roped Gina and me into it because we all just wanted to help.Â
Looking back, it's hard to believe it has been four years since it began. However, despite the challenges and uncertainties, ACP has continued to grow yearly. Working with different districts, schools, teachers, and organizations has been a privilege to help students navigate this ever-changing world. As we move into this new year, I look forward to continuing this journey and positively impacting students' lives.
Returning to the Beginning
Unfortunately, teaching has become more challenging over the years, but we know educators like you are still giving it your all. In September of this year, Gina wrote the blog High-Quality PD: Dive into Criteria & Effective Learning Strategies, and within the blog, we named a bunch of learning strategies we often use in our professional development and put them in our store as free resources. Learning Strategies Playbook
We reviewed all of our professional learning events and selected the strategies that will be useful in creating a constructivist and learner-centered classroom. It was an enjoyable experience to go through this process as there were some strategies I had not used in a while and had forgotten about. It reaffirmed my belief that this was the right approach, and having all the strategies in one location is really helpful.
