James Fester

James’ educational journey began as a middle school teacher and eventually into instructional coaching, technology integration, and writing. Currently, he works as a magnet coordinator for a Title I public school and as a coach for schools and teachers looking to create empowering learning environments where every student feels seen and successful.

James’ work is based on his collaborations in informal education spaces, such as UNESCO, Cyark, and the National Park Service.  In addition to his regular contributions to blogs like Edutopia, National Geographic, and others, he has had two books published by ISTE and is currently working on his third.

He holds a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction and currently resides in the Twin Cities area of Minnesota with his educator wife and two outdoorsy daughters.
